Update on George and Westeros
It seems that creative individuals from singers, songwriters and yes even more so, writers, are making use of the current quarantine situation that we are all in, especially in this time of the pandemic. One author who recently posted an update on his blog is Game of Thrones author, George RR Martin!
We know that his books are popular and that it spawned a hit show that aired on HBO for eight seasons until 2019. Now what we also know - and this was also true and speculated upon while the show was running- is that the show has overrun the narrative in the books for the books only ended up until Book 5, which is Dance with Dragons.
The next installment which is entitled, The Winds of Winder, will apparently be ready this July.
How has the author coped during these trying times?
George wrote: "For those of you who may be concerned for me personally... yes, I am aware that I am very much in the most vulnerable population, given my age and physical condition.
"But I feel fine at the moment, and we are taking all sensible precautions.
"I am off by myself in a remote isolated location, attended by one of my staff, and I'm not going into town or seeing anyone."
The author added that he is spending more time in Westeros than in the real world and that things over there are pretty grim at the moment. But not as grim as how we are all in at the moment.
Whether this is true the final confirmation of the release of the book or just him finishing remains to be seen.
